v0.6 - Major Update: Post Jam Improvements!



A Huge Thanks
Before I get into the new additions I have added to the game, I first wanted to thank all of you who have supported the game in whatever capacity over the last week or so. Whether you listened to my brainstorming, play tested pre-release, left a comment, rated or even just played, thank you.
I could not dream of my first GMTK Game Jam going the way it has. This is only my second game jam and third published game full stop but used the opportunity of the 4 day jam to flex my eye for detail and tried to submit the best product I could. I got extremely lucky both technically, to get the game mechanic working as smoothly as I did, and also in visibility, gaining an overwhelming 137k impressions, over 4.6k views which resulted in over 2.5k plays, over 350 comments and nearly 600 rates on the jam submission!

Change log
New Features:
- Life System - following a suggestion during the jam voting period, the first change introduced was a system that would respawn the player if they made a mistake during a run. Now, the player can crash 3 times before being on their last chance but if they crash a 4th time the run ends.
- Game Modes - 3 different game modes have been added to the game which you can select from the main menu. These new modes are:
- Standard Mode - 4 lives to score as many points as possible,
- Hardcore Mode - you only get one life (like it was during the jam)
- Game Modifier Mode - select a game modifier or let the game choose a random modifier before each run
- Game Modifiers - these modifiers will only be available in their own game mode, not hardcore or standard. New modifiers include:
- Oops, All Moons! - only small planets with moon sprites will appear making a slower game with smaller targets
- The Gravity of the Situation - all planets have gravity areas larger than the map size meaning no matter where you boost, all planets will influence your ship
- Big Rocket - the rocket is big now
- Randomiser Screen - added an animated screen that chooses the modifier and shows a brief description of the modifier
- High Scores Saved - now high scores get saved locally so you can see your high scores. There is also a new unused leader boards tab that will soon show top scores (I accidently left it accessible in this build but oh well, a teaser of the next up date then)
- Toggle Brighter Rings - bodies with rings can now be made brighter for devices with low black levels such as OLED phones
- Explosion Animation Edit - crashing into a planet now leaves a rocket sized hole in the planet surface that sticks around until the run ends so enjoy seeing yourself crash into the exact same spot 4 times in a row

Bug Fixes:
- Look ahead no longer defaulted to on
- Infinite loop glitch no longer results in points but remains in the game requiring you to now boost before you can earn points from gaining orbit
- Credit shadow is now offset properly
